Halloween is coming near, and that means the Willoughby Scarecrow Contest is finally here. The City of Willoughby Parks and Recreation Department organizes this event each year to help dress up the town with original Halloween decorations. This year’s theme is “Sports.” That means you need to put your spin a sporty scarecrow.
Keep in mind your scarecrow must be:
- Weather resistant
- Absent of adult, political, and religious themes
- Constructed with a wooden or PVC post to allow for a more secure display
- Imaginative and Fun
There is an entry form and fee of $5, which must be submitted no later than October 12, 2016, to the Parks and Recreation Department at City Hall. Judging will take place on October 13th, and the scarecrows will be displayed October 14th.
